The 25th PMPC Star Awards for TV

Last tuesday, November 22, 2011. The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) has revealed the winners for this year’s Star Awards for Television in a ceremony held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World, in Pasay City.

I was invited by some friends from the Press & take a privilege to take pictures for the said event.

Sobra akong natutuwa na sa pasimula ng taong 2011 ay muli kong nakasama ang classmate ko since elementary na naging idolo at inspirasyon ko sa photography na kilala sa pangalang Dookie Ducay, magkasama kaming nag-cover ng isang kasal

Pagwawaldas ng PCSO ng pera ng Pinoy (ayon sa GMA-7 Reporter's Notebook)

Nuong nakaraang Martes ng gabi o magmi-mierkules na ng madaling araw,
Salamat sa Dios at napanuod ko yung Dokumentaryo ng GMA-7 na pagkatapos ng SAKSI.

Grabe pala ang pondo ng PCSO, umabot na sa 2 bilyong piso ang napupunta lamang sa pag-a-advertise nila ng kanilang sariling ahensya sa iba't-ibang estasyon ng t.v., radyo at pati sa mga dyaryo.
Tapos ipinakita rin sa programa yung mga kapwa nating humihingi ng tulong na halos araw-araw, lingo-linggong pinapabalik-balik ng PCSO.

Para sa kaalaman ng iba - ang PCSO (Philippine Charity Sweeptakes Office)
ay isang ahensya ng gobyerno na kumakalap ng pera sa pamamagitan ng mga tinatayaan ng ating mga kababayan na mga sweeptakes at lotto na karaniwang mapapanuod sa NBN-channel 4 ang pag-draw para sa mga mananalo.
Ngunit ang pinakapangunahing Layunin ng ahensyang ito ay ang makatulong (raw!)
sa mga nangangailangan ng tulong sa usaping Kalusugan (Medical) at iba pa.

Samantalang sa ipinakita ng Documentary kagabi sa GMA-7, ibinulgar dito kung papaano waldasin ng ahensya ang bilyon-bilyong piso na nakakalap nila sa pag-aadvertise lamang. sa kabila ng libo-libo naman nating mga kababayan ang lubhang nangangailangan ng pondo para maipagamot ang mga karamdaman ng mga kaanak o ng mismong kanilang sarili.
Halos maluha ako ng pinapanuod ko ito.

Ngunit Katawa-tawa yung sinabi nung isang kawani ng ahensya (pcso) na
"Hindi raw kasi sapat yung gumawa, kailangan daw kasi ay gumawa at ipakita yung ginawa..."

How do you kneel down when praying to God?

The above photo shows the proper way of kneeling down when praying to God. This praying position is called tithēmi, a greek term pronounced as [tith'-ay-mee].

A brother in the Lord writes, "I really love seeing this kid in the praying position...at that moment still singing the hymn #1, yet this kid (I guess, 3 yrs old), was very much ready to pray. Of all the kids we all love to see, iba talaga pag anak ng kapatid!"

The 9th Philippine Web Awards

For the 9th consecutive year, Media G8way Corp. (MGC) once again honored the countrys best Web sites competing in 13 different categories. A total of 60 Web sites have made it to the 9th Philippine Web Awards (PWA) finals.

The PWA held at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium Podium 4, RCBC Plaza Makati City Last Thursday, December 7 '06.
It is a night of fun, glamour and a chance to witness the high-tech online creativity of filipinos.

The 13 Web site categories are: Arts and Portfolio; Banking and Finance; Blogs; Celebrities and Personalities; Community and Portal; Corporate; e-Government; Lifestyle and Leisure; Media; Organizations; Personal; Schools; and SMEs (sites of small and medium enterprises across all industries).

For each of the 13 categories, two separate awards are given: The Best Web Site and the Peoples Choice Award. A award also given for The Most Popular Web Site of the Year 2006.

Guest celebrities JM Rodriguez and Sheryll Crystal hosted the event with actresses Francine Prieto, Pinky Amador, and lounge singer and former Philippine idol contestant Jelly Mateo as presenters.

Also, three local Filipino alternative rock bands are gave live performances in the event, composed of DNA Rock, Helen band, and the Join the Club band.

Prestigious local and foreign judges evaluated all the 60 Web site finalists. The finals judging ended on December 1 and the scores of each finalist are tabulated by the Isla Lipana & Co., a member firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

And also the countrys Best Local Government Unit (LGU) Web Sites honored during the PWA. The inclusion of the category is made possible through a partnership signed between MGC, the National Computer Center (NCC), and the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT).

Winners of Peoples Choice awards are those that garnered the most number of SMS and Online votes in their respective categories, while the Most Popular Site of the Year winner is the site that, overall, has garnered the most number of both SMS and Online votes.

PWA also treat some voters by given a chance in winning two free tickets to witness the PWA event.

The PWA says that this is the stepping-stone for a bigger and glitzier awards event the Annual Webby Awards the global index of success for interactive work. It is hailed as "the most prestigious award in the world" by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
